As the FIM World Championship tour took a break, many of the top riders lined up to the start in Genk for a good cause. The eighth "Everts and friends" charity race featured not only current GP stars, but also great motocross names from which the host Stefan Everts himself was one of the most interesting in the start.

ICE1Racing team colors were presented by the Portuguese rider Rui Gonçalves, who made his way all the way to the final. Also the team owner Kimi Räikkönen together with the team manager Antti Pyrhönen met the motocross fans. Räikkönen teamed up in the motocross-cyclocross relay and finished in the top four.

"This is a great event, we have enjoyed the day tremendously. It is great to see so many motocross fans enjoying the sport and supporting such a good cause", commented Räikkönen after the race.

Pyrhönen took part along with the GP starts and made it through to the second round.

"I love riding and today was truly a great day to return to the racing tracks", cheered the team manager Antti Pyrhönen, who finished his career as a professional rider last season. "I think we were riding really well with Kimi today, but the arm pump kept us from claiming the victory", laughed Pyrhönen.

The charity race supports the children and young people by donating all the proceeds for good cause. Visit Everts and friends for more details.
