Newsflash, 30 April 2013
Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto wrapped up his third-consecutive Monster Energy Supercross title at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Ryan Villopoto wins third straight Supercross title
Villopoto took the lead in the third turn and sprinted the entire 20-lap main event to hold off his championship rivals and secured the No. 1 plate for his KX450F for next season. With the championship in reach, Villopoto was cool and confident heading to Salt Lake City. In his heat race, the defending champion battled for the lead before settling for second. In order to clinch the championship, Villopoto needed to place ahead of his two closest rivals.

Rocketing off the start on his KX450F, he took hold of the lead by the third corner and began his sprint to the finish. Despite multiple attacks, Villopoto was able to edge out the field leading all 20 laps and winning his third straight Monster Energy Supercross Championship.

“It feels amazing,” said Villopoto. “The track was tough and any little mistake could have easily changed the result. We are all pushing so hard it was anyone’s race. It took a lot of hard work to get to this point and it takes a tight knit group to succeed at this level.”

By winning three straight supercross championships, Villopoto joins an elite group of riders that have achieved such a feat. Bob Hannah, Jeremy McGrath, and Ricky Carmichael are the only other riders to have won three in a row.

The finale of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross season will take place at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. The racing will be intense as the Western and Eastern 250SX Regions will have their final round as well a face off against each other in the East/West Shootout.

Honda World Motocross chooses SamcoSport hoses for 2013

The Honda World Motocross team has gained a new technical partner for 2013 in SamcoSport®, which is an experienced manufacturer that provides hoses for the factory Honda CRF450R race machines of Evgeny Bobryshev and Max Nagl.

These hi-performance hoses have been designed and manufactured to the highest possible quality especially for the specification of the factory team’s high performance CRF450R, which is raced in the toughest of conditions in the MX1 World Championship.

SamcoSport® hoses are made by hand in the UK with each hose being 100% visually inspected before it leaves the factory and all hoses are manufactured from the finest European silicones that are specifically designed for automotive use. This outstanding quality combined with the hoses' SamTek™ lining  (which was developed by SamcoSport®), used specifically in the construction of their hoses, delivers outstanding resistance in the harshest of environments, which is a credit to the 12 years experience that the innovative company can boast.

SamcoSport's testing is also second to none. With a permanently staffed laboratory, which is unique within the performance hose industry, the company is constantly developing its range of hoses for bikes, cars and other automotive products.

“SamcoSport is very pleased to have been chosen as a technical partner by such a prestigious team as the Honda World Motocross team. We look forward to developing new hoses throughout the season, which we are confident will further enhance the performance of the cooling system, to help to put both bike and rider at the front of the pack,” said Mark Hale - SamcoSport® UK Product Development Manager

The Honda World Motocross team is currently using the striking blue hoses from the wide range of Samco colours, and with a proven reliability along with a good performance, it has added an impressive touch to the factory machines raced by two of the fastest riders in the World. Part of the development programme for SamcoSport® is to put the hoses through the toughest of environments, and the partnership with Honda allows the hoses to be demonstrated racing at the highest level in the MX1 World Championship.

“For us it is important to know that every component of our bikes are at the highest quality with every product we use considered carefully to ensure that no stone is left unturned when we compete against the best riders in the World. With Samco’s history and experience, they add not only a good look to my bike, but we know we can rely on the quality hose to do the job we need it to in some of the most demanding conditions. I’m pleased we can work with SamcoSport to develop their products,” said Evgeny Bobryshev, Honda World Motocross team rider.

SamcoSport® was the original performance hose brand and the company pioneered the development of the direct replacement aftermarket hose. There is a vast array of products that can be purchased for numerous applications by visiting www.samcosport.com.
